Feeling down? Maybe you just need to D.A.N.C.E.
Seriously. Get Up. Move Your Body. Let Go.
Los Angeles is no stranger to epic nights and is also known to have some of the toughest concert crowds to please. Thanks to the co-headlining show, Kaytranada x JUSTICE Fall '25 Tour at the KIA Forum, the city was treated to something special. Their two-day residency kicked off with Kaytranada, instantly transporting everyone—especially LA transplants—back to their first nights out in the city circa 14 years ago. When Justice took the stage later in the night, they showcased why they are one of the best in the electronic music genre, with their blend of nu-disco, funk, rock, and, at times, hip-hop.
This was a co-headlining tour that allowed concertgoers to experience the best of both worlds. Starting with Kaytranada’s set, whether he spun his classic remixes like Janet Jackson’s “IF” or “You’re The One featuring SYD,” or dropped newer bangers like “10%” featuring Kali Uchis and “Witchy” with Donald Glover, the crowd moved in a constant wave. The rhythmic, pulsing, laid-back R&B-influenced house music let everyone lose themselves in the music. We didn’t take ourselves too seriously, swayed to the music, and waited for that sweet bassline to drop so we could ride the ebbs and flows of a majestic sonic Ferris wheel.

After Kaytranada built momentum, Justice took the stage in a blaze of energy. If you left before JUSTICE performed, are you mad? You missed an unforgettable experience, laced with white light, moody themes, and a great time. Their set was a rollercoaster of electricity, amplified by the world’s premier innovators in live event sound systems, L-Acoustics. Not only did you hear the most dynamic version of Justice’s music in the Kia Forum, but, in my humble opinion, it was the cleanest, clearest, and most dynamic performance I’ve heard in this venue all year. French electronic duo Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay are perfectionists when it comes to live audio. The result was life-changing. And I’m not just saying this because I spoke with the group’s audio tech about the ins and outs, mathematics, and schematics of what was done to make the sound so crisp. That’s just what it was—crispy like a dollar bill. The visuals were intense—honestly, they could’ve used a warning. If you have synesthesia or love immersive shows, this was paradise. Under the fog and white light, we were truly living our version of the BLADE (1998) opening club scene. We went on an auditory journey filled with heavy drops, extended crescendos, and waves—just waves of ambient sounds that surrounded you but didn’t burst your eardrums.
JUSTICEs performance felt never-ending in the best way. In unison, we all screamed “WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS” and sang along to the vocal stems of Tame Impala. “Neverender” weaved in and out of the setlist like a dream. I would have gladly danced for hours. If I could lose myself in the “On to the Next One” by Jay-Z/ “D.A.N.C.E.,” “Safe and Sound” remix, I honestly would. That moment felt euphoric. This energy encapsulated the night and led perfectly into the collective need for celebration. Side Note: Genesis x Phantom (WWW) and Audio, Video, Disco (WWW)... incredible. I have no words. WWW by Justice is an incredible project. I think some people have been sleeping on it. I’m glad I got to hear some tracks live.
Sometimes, LA needs a factory reset—a reminder of the days when we packed into clubs and raves just to let loose, not just moments of being stuck in traffic to pay for high rent and living for the weekend. This show provided exactly that. The beautiful moment where everyone in the crowd, on the floor or high up in the stands, was dancing, singing, and making new friends, was a testament to the communal experience. We all needed that moment of togetherness. I know I did. For a few hours, any seasonal depression or midlife angst melted away. This was easily one of my top shows of the year. I’d recommend it again and again. My notifications are on for the next time Kaytranada or JUSTICE comes back to town.
Thank you, Kaytranada x JUSTICE, for giving the city a night that cut through the noise with unforgettable energy. LA needed this reminder of pure musical joy—and we’ll be ready when you bring it back.
