Behind the Scenes with Alemeda: Quick-Fire Q&A with Rock’s Rising Star

On a cool June night, following a sold-out show at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood with rising UK star Rachel Chinouriri, Ethiopian-Sudanese singer-songwriter Alemeda stepped away from the euphoric energy of the All I Ever Asked For Tour for a rapid-fire interview. She discussed Pre-show rituals, what’s next for her as a rising rockstar and got to hear some whispers about new music coming soon.

Are there any specific activities or practices you engage in before going on stage that help center your energy or connect you with your music? And if so, how do you incorporate self-care or relaxation techniques into your pre-show routine to combat nerves and foster a positive mindset?

My pre-show rituals are never really consistent, but mostly I’m just hanging out with the band or beating them all in Uno.

What are three words and one color to describe your music currently?

3 words: NEW MUSIC SOON
One color: pink

If you could perform anywhere in the world—past or present—where would it be, and what would the atmosphere look like for your ideal show?

If I could perform anywhere in the world it would probably be London in the early 2000s. A lot of my favorite bands came out of there around that time.

What would you like new fans to know about yourself after tonight's performance?

Despite me being the world’s biggest hater, I’m really just a chill guy.

What's next? What should the fans be expecting from you after this tour?

New songs dropping soon, new project coming in a couple months. In the meantime stream my new single “Chameleon” featuring my queen Rachel Chinouriri now!
